The BX-9 is a sports car featured in Driver: Parallel Lines.

Design

The BX-9 is closely based on a Aston Martin DB9, with hints of a typical modern day Alfa Romeo front fascia and grille. The length and most of the body is very aerodynamic, and has a splitter to direct air underneath the car at the front.

Performance

Having a V12 engine, its very powerful, but not so fast as other sports cars in game, its acceleration is one of the best, however.

1978 Era

Note: The BX-9 is a 2006 era vehicle, therefore it will not spawn in the 1978 Era naturally.

  • Does not spawn in the 1978 era.
  • Can be seen driving around if the player has completed the game, and drives the vehicle in the 1978 era using the Era Change feature.
  • Can also be done if the player uses the "all vehicles" cheat and drives the vehicle in the 1978 era.

Trivia

  • The BX-9's texture file reveals a hidden British registration plate, reading "WN03 NTM".[1] This registration plate is actually registered to an Alfa Romeo 156, a possible reference to a car resembling the BX-9.[2]
  • The BX-9 was originally called "Albion". In the files, the names "albion_racer" and "albion" exist, yet no "bx-9" or "bx-9_racer" can be found. Given the fact that every other vehicle with a race variant has its in-game name (except for the Cerrano being "Coyote", Andec being "Eagle" and Cerva being "Ardenne") it can be assumed that the "Albion" is the BX-9.
  • Within the textures, alternative front and rear bumper textures remain, although are unused in the final game. Scenes from pre-mission videos (such as that before Gate Crasher) reveal there are also other beta textures for the car, which differ from those found in the texture files.[3]
