Circuit Races are Side-Jobs in Driver: Parallel Lines.

DescriptionEdit

Circuit Races are a type of race featured in Driver: Parallel Lines. They involve the player racing around a small race-designed circuit multiple times against numerous other AI-controlled competitors. There are 3 unique Circuit Races in the game, each with 3 difficulties. Winning the medium and hard difficulty for the first time will reward the player with cash as well as a a unique vehicle from the race category.

Circuit RacesEdit

Unlike other side jobs, individual map locations of circuit races are not distinguished by difficulty - the player can manually select the level of difficulty at each of the locations. This means that the circuit races are named after their location rather than difficulty.

There are three locations across the map, one at each Ray's Autos garage. The three circuit races are themed as handling, speed, and off-road capabilities respectively.

Circuit Race Hunts Point takes place at the Hunts Point Circuit, an off-road track designed to test the vehicle's abilities with handling, i.e. cornering and braking. It features numerous sharp turns, a loop and two slaloms.

Circuit Race La Guardia takes place at the LaGuardia Circuit, just next to the LaGuardia Airport. This track is a motorsport concrete track which focuses on speed and acceleration. It features several long straights, as well as corners and several inclines.

Main article: Circuit Race - Jersey

Circuit Race Jersey takes place at the Jersey Circuit. This track is another off-road type track, but is much more vigorous and focuses on off-roading abilities, such as managing with tight corners, embankments and rough surfaces.

Rewards Edit

The player will be rewarded depending on his position. Rewards are the same for all locations (Hunts Point, Jersey and La Guardia). Finishing the race withing a certain amount of time will result in a perfect driver bonus of $10,000 in the 1978 era and $100,000 in the 2006 era. Note that the perfect driver bonus is not linked to the difficulty of the attended race and thus can be obtained in every difficulty. However, it can only be obtained once for every location.

As well as cash rewards, finishing first place on each circuit, on either hard or medium, will reward the player with a special racecar that will be unlocked in the garage. Each circuit and difficulty has its own car.
